How I hate them.

Do watches with thermometers actually work - as in have the ability without hanging them outside to tell the ambient temperature?

Yes but since intelligence seems subjective/relative/society-determined you can't be sure your intelligent thoughts actually are.
But then again you can't really rely on the people around you to judge that either.

On microwave I had sort of guessed that it was to let me know it had finished. But even the dumbest clock will give up and stop beeping after a while - just not a microwave, even if it's doing nothing. The food is reheated. It's not going to go away. Or get more bu more…

Microwaves beep to let you know they've finished the task you set them - like when you put the timer on the oven!
I'm a girl and I definitely DO NOT squeal. If I feel a squeally moment coming on I throw back my head and howl like a wolf. Is that better for you?
